Escape To The Paramounts Carowinds Theme Park In North Carolina
Mar 6th, 2009 by DavePF
Enjoying some of your North Carolina vacation at Paramounts Carowinds will not only have you glad you did but your kids will think you are the best thing ever!
If you have children under 5 years of age don’t think there is nothing for them to do, there is the Amusement attraction where the children can take a train trip with Dora the Explorer’s Azul or fly, dip and twirl with Danny-Phantom. Hugs are the part of the experience for the young children with the full-size Nickelodeon stars everywhere in the park.
With children from 6 – 12 you can keep them excited by either seeing some of the live events that go on throughout the theme park all day or visit Nickelodeon-Central where there are more than 20 rides for their peer group. They can even enter Scooby Doo’s Haunted Mansion! They will enjoy to free fall into 20 acres of fun in the water park. You will discover fun rides that they will enjoy – even one that takes guests 320 feet above the park! There is the “Wild mouse” roller coaster that will show the children a real thrill or the Scream Weaver – Gondolas which spin in a horizontal position and lifts into the vertical position, sending riders into upside-down orbit. Including all these and many more choices for the children they will be busy from the moment you enter in until you finally get them to leave at the end of the day!
For teenagers between 12 – 18 the excitement never ends. They can experience the Nighthawk, the flying rollar-coaster and highest one in the park or the Rip Roarin’ Rapids with the white-water raging expedition you can experience in a 6 person craft (and get really, really wet). Of course there are the bumper-cars that are a favorite of many children. Now imagine them on the Thunder-Road which is a forward and backward roller coaster. They may need to plunge down a 45 foot waterfall to the tidal pool of water below (an excellent opportunity to cool down on a scorching day.) There are so many attractions and rides for them that they may want you to return with them the next day!
As parents you may feel that you need to sit back and watch the kids have fun…WRONG! Run out there with them, talk them into going on the Xtreme-SkyFlyer with you and experience the excitement of skydiving as everyone is lifted one-hundred-fifty-three feet in the sky and then pull the ripcord for a 50 foot free fall at sixty miles-per-hour. (you need to be really brave for this one and it does have an additional charge.)
If that isn’t adequate for you then visit the Drop-Zone where you will discover a fifty-six mph 100 ft. free fall. Probably don’t want a full stomach just before you do this, could get messy!
The Hurler is the wooden rollar-coaster that reaches 50 mph with stomach-twisting dips and turns.
This is only the start of the fun that awaits you and your family in Piedmont on your North Carolina getaway!
There is also a twenty-five acre Carowinds campground with almost 200 campsites, and fifeteen rental cabins for those that want to stay right there. For reservations call 704-587-9116 or 1-800-888-4386 ext. 2116
